Kaye de Lancey Hentschke

Director of Development

Kaye oversees all individual, family foundation and corporate donor development activities for the Food Band and is responsible for the Food Bank’s annual $5 million annual operating budget. Kaye brings 17 years of fundraising experience to the Food Bank. Prior to joining the Food Bank, Hentschke was the CEO of Creative Fundraising Concepts, an independent fundraising consultancy. After graduating from UC San Diego with a B.S. in Political Science, Hentschke headed campaigns for educational foundations and healthcare organizations. She was responsible for school site campaigns, annual giving campaigns, event planning, corporate development, grant writing and strategic planning. Kaye also chaired districtwide campaigns and countywide fundraising drives.

Kaye was a member of Rady Children’s Hospital Auxiliary Board of Directors and the Torrey Pines High School Foundation Board for six and a half years, while serving four years on its Board of Directors. In addition, Kaye served on the Solana Beach Foundation for Learning’s Board of Directors for six years, is a past founding member of F.A.M.E., the Foundation to Advance Music Education, and was a lead fundraiser for Lance Armstrong’s LiveStrong 2005 national fundraising campaign. Kaye is currently a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, the UCSD Alumni Association and Rady Children’s Hospital Auxiliary Del Mar Unit, the Coastal Networking Group and is a recipient of the Women Who Mean Business Courage Award.
