Meet Linda. Linda is a Vista resident who relies on assistance from the North County Food Bank’s Client Choice Pantry to help put food on the table.
Linda is retired and lives on social security. When asked what brings her to the San Diego Food Bank, she explained that she experienced some rain damage to her mobile home that has been costly to fix, and the money that usually goes towards living expenses, like food, had to go towards repairing her home. Like many San Diegans, Linda is on a fixed income and is just one incident away from facing food insecurity.
Linda has visited the North County Food Bank’s Client Choice Pantry before and when asked what kind of food she likes to receive, she showed her enthusiasm for that day’s selection. “Today was an awesome day! The food, the meat, the bread the vegetables and the fruit,” she explained.
Every donation to the Food Bank helps make a difference in the lives of those experiencing hunger. Linda expressed her gratitude for our supporters. “I’m just so grateful and thankful. They make life a little bit easier.”As the cost of living remains high in San Diego, your help is critical to the San Diego Food Bank and our neighbors likes Linda who rely on our programs. Thank you for supporting the San Diego Food Bank as we continue to serve as the County’s safety net against food insecurity.

A 5th grader, a sophomore and a junior in high school. With the cost of food rising and a full house to feed, Ana turns to the San Diego Food Bank to help put food on the table for her family. She explains, “When I come here – it’s help for my family, for my home. I need more stuff but right now I don’t have work. I’m looking for work.
”Unfortunately, many local families are just one paycheck, one layoff, or one accident away from nutrition insecurity, but with the generous support of our donors, neighbors like Linda and Ana can get the support they need to provide nourishing meals for themselves and their families.
