HOW THE CAMPAIGN WORKS
Restaurants, breweries and cafes all over San Diego County participate in the Food Bank’s Dollar-A-Dish campaign every year! Each participating location selects a signature dish and/or drink, and every time that menu item is ordered, $1 is donated to the Food 4 Kids Backpack Program.
About the Food 4 Kids Backpack Program
The Food 4 Kids Backpack Program provides weekend backpacks filled with nutritious food to elementary school students living in poverty. Kids on the program receive free school meals Monday through Friday, but face hunger at home on the weekends. The backpack of food they receive sees them through the weekend so they can return to school ready to learn on Monday.
