Did you know that the most recent research indicates that 50% of local college students face food insecurities? This is one of the many reasons the San Diego Food Bank first started the College Hunger-relief Program – to assist low-income students facing food insecurity on college campuses throughout the county providing accessing to free healthy, nutritious food to help them thrive and graduate.

During this season of giving, help the Food Bank and Cal Coast Credit Union raise money and donate food to local San Diego and Riverside county college students who face food insecurity. Cal Coast Credit Union, the San Diego Food Bank, and eleven local community colleges are seeking support from the San Diego community throughout the month of November to help “pack” their on-campus food pantries. Funds generated during this campaign will directly benefit the on-campus pantries of San Diego City College, San Diego Mesa College, San Diego Continuing Education, San Diego Miramar College, Cuyamaca College, Grossmont College, Mira Coast College, Mt. San Jacinto College, Palomar College, Southwestern College and Imperial Valley College.
