Fight Hunger This Season and Help the Food Bank Feed Families in Need
This holiday season, many of us will gather with friends and family to enjoy warm meals and the spirit of giving. But for thousands in our community, the holidays are a time of hunger and uncertainty.
Together, we can change that. The San Diego Food Bank needs your help this holiday season to feed our neighbors in need. Whether you make an online donation, host a community food drive, donate nonperishable food items, or participate in our holiday campaign at our area Albertsons, Vons, or Pavilions supermarkets, your support for our Holiday Food Drive helps families thrive.
Established in 1981, the Food Bank’s annual Holiday Food Drive brings in more than 2 million pounds of food, on average, every holiday season. It takes a community to feed a community — we couldn’t do this important work without you!

Donate Nonperishable Items
On your next grocery run, pick up a few shelf stable food items, then place them in the Food Bank’s red barrels located at the front of the store. Your donations will be distributed to San Diegans in need through our network of more than 500 nonprofit partners.
Donate Online
For every dollar donated, the Food Bank can provide enough food for two meals to San Diegans in need. No gift is too small, and every dollar makes a difference in the fight against hunger. Make your donation by December 31 to qualify for a deduction on your 2024 taxes.
Honor Someone With a Holiday Gift
Looking for a heartfelt holiday gift for a loved one? Give the gift of food to a local family in need on their behalf. Both you and your honoree will receive a letter of acknowledgment and thanks from the Food Bank.
