Help Mission Fed Credit Union support the Food Bank’s Food 4 Kids Backpack Program!
This September, during San Diego Hunger Awareness Month, visit any Mission Fed branch in San Diego County to donate to the San Diego Food Bank’s Food 4 Kids Backpack Program, which provides weekend packages of food to elementary students facing chronic hunger when school meals are unavailable.
A donation of $8 supplies a child in need with nutritious food for the weekend, ensuring they return to school on Monday nourished and ready to learn.

About the Food 4 Kids Backpack Program
This fall marks 20 years of the Food 4 Kids Backpack Program. In 2006, the Food Bank noticed a quiet problem. Children ate well during the school week, then went home Friday to empty cupboards. So we started small, with about 100 children and the belief that no child should face the weekend hungry. What began as a small pilot now reaches 4,000 elementary students across more than 90 school every week.
