Ahmed Haque is Director of Asset Management of NRG Energy, Inc. and based in Carlsbad, California. He is responsible for the commercial management of a renewable energy portfolio consisting of 30 large-scale wind and solar power plants. NRG Energy, a Fortune 200 company, is the nation’s largest independent power producer, serves over 3 million retail customers, and is an industry leader in renewable power development.
Mr. Haque began his 14 year career in the energy industry in 2001 at Enron Corporation where he worked on the firm’s commodity trading platform, EnronOnline. He next held a number of leadership roles at Reliant Energy in corporate development, strategy, and plant operations. He joined NRG Energy in 2011 with commercial management, local affairs, and real estate management responsibilities for the Western region.
Mr. Haque holds Bachelor of Arts and Master of Business Administration degrees from the University of Texas. He also serves as Chairman of the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.
