Carmen Skipworth

Carmen Skipworth is from Washington, D.C. She attended George Mason University with a BA in International Relations. She worked with Congressman Frank Wolf and the Committee on International Affairs. Carmen worked in Hong Kong for Xilinx establishing their headquarters In Asia. She was a member of American Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong.  She moved to London and worked in the US Embassy’s International Marketing Center where she assisted U.S. companies market their businesses in Europe.

Carmen is currently working for an 8a government contractor, PL Systems, an IT services company marketing and consulting on IT such as cybersecurity. Carmen is on the Board of Women in Defense and the Project Management Institute of San Diego. She is a member of AFCEA and NDIA where she also volunteers.

Carmen is a mentor at the Cherie Blair Foundation where she mentors women-owned small businesses worldwide. She has volunteered for the Junior League of San Diego focusing on positively impacting transition-age foster youth as they make the critical transition into independent adult life while bringing attention to the issue of human trafficking in San Diego and its relationship to youth in the foster care system.

Carmen now lives in San Diego, which has been her home for the past 20 years. She has twins who are currently studying engineering in Purdue. In her free time, Carmen enjoys sailing, traveling, concerts, pilates, hiking, art, golf and a good book.
