Darrell Pilant oversees all operations for Harrah’s Resort Southern California. Pilant brings 20 years of experience with Caesars Entertainment at multiple locations to his current role.
A graduate of the United States Merchant Marine Academy, Pilant served in the U.S. Naval Reserve, attaining the rank of Lieutenant Commander before launching his career with Caesars Entertainment as First Mate at Harrah’s Casino and Hotel in North Kansas City (one of the company’s riverboat properties) in 1997. He worked his way up through a variety of Gaming Operations and Marketing positions at Harrah’s properties in New Orleans and Lake Charles, LA and Tunica, MS. In 2007 he was promoted to Regional Vice President of Casino Marketing for the Mid-South Region, and then advanced to Assistant General Manager positions at the Margaritaville Resort and Casino in Biloxi, MS and Harrah’s Casino and Hotel in North Kansas City. In 2011, he accepted the position of Vice President of Operations and Marketing at Harrah’s Resort Southern California. In 2014, he was promoted to Vice President and Assistant General Manager and was subsequently promoted to Senior Vice President and General Manager in 2016. In 2015, Pilant was recognized with the Excellence in Leadership Award – the highest honor presented to Caesars Entertainment Executives.
Active in the San Diego Community, Pilant serves on the Board of Directors for the Tri-City Hospital Foundation, the Jacobs and Cushman San Diego Food Bank and the Cal State San Marcos Athletic Department. He serves on the Advisory Board for the Cal State San Marcos College of Business Administration (CSUSM), and has participated in Harrah’s Resort Southern California’s many volunteer projects, most recently leading a project at the San Diego Food Bank as part of HRSC’s multi-event Giving Tuesday activity.
