Kristin Alles

Director of Human Resources

As the Director of Human Resources, Kristin oversees all human resources matters; recruitment, onboarding, payroll, training, employee relations, benefits, compensation, and employee transitions.

Kristin received her Bachelor’s degree from Cal State University, San Marcos with a degree in Human Development. Having big plans to continue her education to become a licensed therapist, life took her on a different journey which landed her in Human Resources. Recognizing that Human Resources was the perfect blend of helping others and instituting efficient and effective policies to help businesses and individuals thrive, she knew she landed exactly where she was meant to be. Kristin went on to receive a Certificate in Human Resources Management from UCSD Extension and then received her PHR and SHRM-CP certifications. A Southern California native, Kristin joined the Food Bank in 2016 as the first dedicated Human Resources Manager for the organization. Additionally, Kristin is also a certified coach, receiving her CPC and ELI-MP certifications through the Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching (iPEC).

Giving back is a core value in Kristin’s life and something that she has passionately shared with her son. Over the years, Kristin has been involved in many organizations both as a volunteer and in leadership roles. Some of those organizations involved being a volunteer with Kid Korps, a volunteer and philanthropy liaison with TVIA, and a volunteer and Chair for Breath of Hope. She also serves as a volunteer on San Diego SHRM’s Legislative Committee. Giving of her time to support her community is at the heart of her purpose and why joining the Food Bank team was a no-brainer, where she could combine her personal and professional passions to make an impact each and every day to her team and to her community.
