Many Anne Chern, FAHP, ACFRE is a respected fund development professional with more than 3 decades of experience. For the past year, she served as Senior Counsel at Netzel Grigsby Associates, one of the largest Southern California fundraising consulting firms. Prior to this, she served 24 years at Adventist Health White Memorial medical center in Los Angeles as the Senior VP of Philanthropy.
She is one of only 7 individuals who has achieved the highest 2 levels of professional credentialing: the Fellows, awarded by the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy, and Advanced Certification, awarded by the Association of Fundraising Professionals. Over her career she has raised over $500 million for 501(c)3 organizations.
Mary Anne is active with the fundraising professional organizations at both the local and national levels. She is an active member of the Greater Los Angeles Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, and she sits on the international Ethics Committee of AFP. She is also the past international Chair of the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy (AHP), and in 2015 she received the prestigious Si Seymour Award, AHP’s highest recognition for professional development and distinguished leadership in the profession. She also served on the two international boards that are responsible for professional test development and oversight of all fundraising certifications. In November 2021, Mary Anne was recognized by the U.S. Congress in the permanent Congressional Record for her “immense contributions to the fundraising industry.”
Mary Anne’s most recent article was on “Health Equity Fundraising” which was published in AHP’s Journal in Spring 2022, and she was an invited presenter at AHP’s international conference last year. She has written numerous articles, co-authored one book, and is a frequent speaker.
