Thank you to everyone who donated in support of the Nourishing Neighbors Summer Food Drive during the month of May! We appreciate the community’s help in stocking the Food Bank’s shelves ahead of the summer months when demand typically increases. It takes a community to feed a community.
Special thank you to PNC Bank, Sycuan, CBS 8 News, Audacy radio stations, The San Diego Union-Tribune, Albertsons, and Vons for supporting this campaign.
This campaign has ended.
From May 1 to May 31, you can help the San Diego Food Bank and our North County Food Bank chapter feed children and families facing food insecurity during our Nourishing Neighbors Summer Food Drive in partnership with Albertsons and Vons supermarkets countywide.
Many families served by the Food Bank are still recovering from the lasting financial impacts of the pandemic combined with record-high inflation that is increasing the costs of rent, food, utilities and gas.
With the community’s support, this year’s Nourishing Neighbors Summer Food Drive will raise vital food donations and funds to feed children and families facing food insecurity in communities throughout San Diego County.
Albertsons and Vons shoppers are invited to make a monetary donation at checkout. Every San Diego County Albertsons and Vons location is participating in our summer food drive campaign. For every $1 donated, the Food Bank can provide 2 meals to our neighbors in need.
You can donate nonperishable food items to help stock the Food Bank’s warehouse shelves in the Food Bank’s famous red food drive barrels located at the front of the store.
Not sure what to donate? Here is a list of the Food Bank’s most needed food items, which include:
– canned meats
– canned fish
– canned vegetables
– canned fruits
– canned soups & stews
– peanut butter
You are also welcome to donate securely online. For every $1 donated, the Food Bank can provide 2 meals to families in need. Click the blue DONATE NOW button below to donate online today.
Thank you for your support during this heightened time of need! Special thanks to PNC Bank, the Sycuan Band of the Kumeyaay Nation, CBS 8 News, Albertsons, and Vons for supporting this campaign.
Together, we can fight hunger this summer and bring hope to local families facing food insecurity.
